Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have questions about our workshops?
All workshops are done with PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and activities to get teachers up and moving! Certificates for MSDE COK will be provided for any approved topic from the above list.
Reach out well in advance! Make up dates for inclement weather will be identified when scheduling during the winter. We follow MCPS inclement weather policy. A final headcount is required a week ahead, to allow time for material preparation. All workshops, for teachers or parents, are done during business hours.
Workshops are billed at twice the time they are long to account for materials and preparation. So, a 2-hr workshop is billed as 4 hours. Workshops may be covered through a center’s annual consulting contract with ChildDC or they can be billed separately as a stand-alone event. For 50+ people, there is an additional materials fee.
At your center or school! While some 2-hr workshops may also be done virtually, our strong preference is to meet in person for all staff development workshops.
Parent workshops can be done virtually or in person, and typically run 1 hour, which includes ample time for Q&A. These are available during the day.
Because parents don’t need continuing education credits, we have more flexibility! Parents love learning about positive behavior management, handling tantrums, setting limits, establishing daily routines, and supporting sibling relationships.
